Local Moms Favorite OBGYN’s In Worcester MA

I’m back at it surveying the local moms of the Worcester MA area to see who their favorites are again! This time we’re finding out who their favorite OBGYN’s in Worcester MA are. Having a great and reliable OBGYN is more important than basically anything. As woman in general our reproductive health is incredibly important. So is keeping up with your yearly checks. Not only that, but when you plan to become pregnant or find out you’re pregnant, they are the first ones you call. They are there for us for good news and bad. They comfort us when we need it. Having an OBGYN you can trust and be vulnerable with is incredibly important.

  1. First up I have to give a shout out to my absolute favorite. Heidi K. Leftwich, DO

Heidi Leftwich is not only an OBGYN but an MFM high risk doctor as well. She practices out of UMASS Memorial at 119 Belmont Street Worcester MA. Heidi is an incredible doctor who gives her all to every one of her patients. She absolutely saved my third daughters life and it was just another day in the office for her. She spends her life researching and teaching and helping woman bring babies into this world who otherwise might not be able to. She performed a life saving procedure for my daughter when I was in labor at 22 weeks. She was kind and compassionate but also laid it all out on the table for me and let me know all the possibilities. When I found out I was surprisingly pregnant with an IUD last year she was the first person I texted. Im pretty sure I told her before my husband! She made me feel so well taken care of and basically made me feel like I was her one and only patient. She again was an absolute angel and performed another very tricky surgery at 20 weeks to remove my IUD and give me a cerclage to keep my son in until my scheduled c section. I absolutely recommend anyone with high risk pregnancies to see her!

2. Kerri Osterhaus-Houle, MD

Multiple moms raved that Kerri was absolutely amazing. A brief bio from her practice website says” Dr. Osterhaus-Houle believes in listening to her patients, no matter how long it takes.  She finds that taking an extra few minutes with a patient can allay a lot of fears and help cement long-term relationships.  She has presented research on assessing labor difficulty, postpartum depression and cervical cancer.  Dr. Osterhaus-Houle’s interests include adolescent gynecology, obstetrics and colposcopy.”

3. David A. Klein, MD

Local mom Pam says “Dr. David Klein is a fantastic ob/gyn, I recommend his office to everyone who asks. Dr. Klein is the type of doctor that asks and actually listens to what kind of birth experience YOU want and then really advocates for you. He helped me develop a birth plan (discussed the risks and benefits of everything I had questions about)and then while at the hospital he made sure it was followed. Dr. Klein never made me feel like he didn’t have time to talk. He always made time to answer questions. And his staff is exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable. Dr. Klein was described to me as being “as close to a midwife in a hospital that you could get” and in my opinion that description fits him well. He helped me to have the most natural births I could get in a hospital.”

4. Kristina Gracey, MD, MPH

Dr. Kristina D. Gracey is a family medicine doctor in Barre, Massachusetts. Local mom Hannah says “Dr Gracey, made home visits for me when I delivered my first baby, sometimes just to say hi. I didn’t have a car so I needed some medicine and one day she just dropped it off at my house. When my first son was born, she came in with her daughters and gifts on her day off to the hospital. And when my son passed away, she came to my house immediately to comfort me and help me feel better in any way possible. And she has been by my side since, whenever I need anything she’s just one phone call away.”
